After the Islamic revolution in Iran, the "Supreme Leader" began to impose Shari'a laws of Islam in order to turn Iran into an Islamic state.
It started with a law which requires women to wear an Islamic veil in government buildings.
Today women in Iran must wear an Islamic veil in every public place.
These women who took to the streets of Teheran in 1979 knew that this was their last chance to defend their freedom.
